the first photo on your ppt slideshow <3 p="p"> this black-and-white photo is tinged with nostalgia. The fact that it appears to be a deserted, yet well-kept shot of a street in China infuses this photograph with a strong cultural - very Chinese - atmosphere.
the directional lines that recede into the horizon aptly bring the viewer's attention to the right focus and places.
i could spend a whole day just analyzing the myriad of possible meanings behind this photograph. (a picture speaks a thousand words!) I love many of the others too but I think this is the strongest piece, because of the stark contrast in colour and partly because of the composition. I think the extensions on the roof which extend into the sky are interesting, imperfect and beautiful in their own right, preventing the buildings from appearing locked in space and becoming too still, thereby subtly introducing a sense of motion and life that on closer view is inherent in your photograph.
however I think maybe if you shot it with a wider view and increased the contrast, maybe it would have a stronger effect. but probably something was blocking the other side so you cropped the photo? I get that a lot.
